17th January - Norah

Today is Tuesday, 17th of January. We woke up and had a lovely breakfast of delicious fruit and french toast. Samaki is on clean up crew today and they did amazing!! We then got ready and got in the van to go to town to help the village with gardening. We shovelled and moved dirt, watered plants, made plant towers and played and danced with the children! Everyone enjoyed this so much. This was an amazing but very hot experience. 

When we got back the three teams did a swim race and pamboo won! After that we had lunch and got all of our data working. Then began our mapping workshop. After this we headed to Chris’s house and for a BBQ. Chris is a wonderful man that will be leading us on a safari to Tsavo. He has a beautiful home here in Kilifi with an amazing pool and outside kitchen with an amazing view of the ocean. Chris gave us a wonderful presentation to get us excited for our safari trip. We then ate dinner and headed home! It was such an amazing day.
