21st January - Lara
If I’m being completely honest, our day started out at 12 am at the beach club at Kilifi. After an hour of dancing, singing, and swimming in the pool, we embarked on a sleepy car ride home. With a tired Norah asleep in my lap, I was anticipating my own bed. We tucked Alec into bed, and soon after everyone else was quick to fall asleep.
I woke up around 9 am and headed to breakfast. The boys slept in, so we had a girls morning for laying out in the sun and gossiping about the shenanigans of last night. We had lunch, and afterwards adorable kids from local schools arrived to watch a wildlife film. We had a chance to practice our broken Kiswahili. (this was usually met with many, many laughs)
In the afternoon we had a walk to the beach bar and ate our first dinner of the night. Phoebe, Etty, Bella, and Norah were ambushed by schoolchildren in the ocean, after which they bought them all chips. We attempted to bury Rhodes in the sand, much to our delight. We had a fun van ride home, and had some time to chill and shower before having dinner. Georgia then lent us her computer to watch a scary movie; some people were more scared than others. In a sleepy state, we headed to bed after a long but fun day.
Over and out!
