12th June - Charlie
It’s was Monday morning but unlike Garfield - we were excited for the day ahead.
A hearty breakfast set us up nicely for the day ahead. The day started off with us heading to a nearby village where we helped transport water from the well to each of the houses. We were shown how to carry the water on our heads though none of us were successful in our endeavours.
This was followed by a permaculture session in which we de-weeded the vegetable gardens to allow the fresh vegetables to grow uninterrupted.
By lunch time we were hungry from a long days work. Thankfully the afternoon proved to be just as good as the morning.
After lunch, we had an amazing Swahili lesson with Juma, which then lead to Jumas beach party where we played football and had a few beers.
A nice way to end a day. As Mondays go, this one was pretty amazing.
