Thursday - 27th July - Chiara

 Today we woke up and it was my birthday! The day started off with a well rewarded lie-in and a long car journey down to Mombasa. 

To begin the day, we went to City Mall where we bought the infamous Tusker Cider & Kenya football t-shirts along with a big supermarket shop stocking up on snacks.

After that we headed off to the nearby water park. There were so many fun slides, one which included everyone deciding to all go down together 1 after another where we all crashed into each other inside.

Later we headed off to Kuruwitu Village Market to buy "shit shirts " for the evening. With some quality bargaining skills , everyone managed to buy a hilarious shirt for their randomly selected person as well as other goodies.

In the evening, we celebrated with delicious cocktails made by Cam while dancing and singing at the bar in our new shirts. To top it off, we finished the day with a cake and a nighttime dip in the pool.

It was a fantastic day filled with fun and one of the best days I’ve had!

 We don’t often take a chill day during the week but an 18th birthday is too good an opportunity to miss.

Also, the team have been tired and we felt a day of fun would be good for all so everyone is on full charge for the safari.
