Monday 16th October - Annie
We had an early start at 6:30 this morning to do a beach clean. The beach today wasn’t as messy as last weeks but we still managed to gather 72kg of rubbish - team Kasa won by just one kilo! After our well deserved breakfast we sorted through the rubbish, separating it into different piles for us to use for our murals. We then headed inside for another fish lecture, shortly followed by a Swahili lesson taught by Juma. After lunch we headed over to the office to learn how to build a jiko stove (a special design of stove which uses much less firewood than a normal stove). It was very hot and we were all sweaty so when our work was done we all ran into the sea for a cool down. We dried off in the sun with a few drinks and a fun game of beach volleyball. We then rushed back home for a delicious supper and a chilled evening, chatting till late into the night!
