Thursday 18th January - Lucy C

We started the day having a delicious brekkie before heading off in our 2 groups. In my group, we started off making cinder blocks out of clay for the coral which was a very satisfying job whilst banging out some tunes to keep us going. After, we headed out for a snorkel where we got to see lots of fish, and even an octopus! After a long morning, we headed back home for lunch, having a 2 hour break of chilling, tanning and swimming. We then had a lecture on plants that was informative and interesting, that led us to discuss our ideas for our mural design (finding ways to recycle the rubbish we collect from the beach every monday morning) - my group coming up with the idea of a 3D structure resembling a reef. Later on, we headed to Chris Angels house to have a swim and discuss the upcoming safari that we’ll be going on in 2 weeks, leaving us all really excited for what we’ll be able to see. After we had a lovely BBQ to finish off our hard working day. We then headed home to have a chilled and early night in, ready for the next fun-packed day ahead of us!

Oceans Alive says:

A busy day with a balance of conservation activity, chill and fun.
