Monday 29th January - Lily
We woke up at Saltlick and started our day with a chilled morning safari where we got to see the beautiful sunrise. During the day, we cycled 10km through the Kenyan savannah which was an amazing opportunity to get truly immersed in our environment.
We were rewarded with a delicious buffet brunch when we got to our camp, which overlooked a huge lake with hippos and crocodiles! We got spectacularly close to a real crocodile mother protecting her eggs on our walking safari. We learnt that crocodile babies chances of survival are low as they face many odds in the wild, which is why the mother stands guard over her eggs for the first three months.
We ended the day at my favourite sundowner spot and watched the sunset from the top of the rovers. We even spotted a warthog - Pumba from Lion King!
