Saturday 27th January - Tessa

We started today with an early 6.00am wake up to get going on our safari. Chris came to Popes to pick us all up including three girls working in Watamu. We had a long car journey to Tsavo before. We cycled 11km down some dusty paths and then stopped for some water and crisps as we were cycling literally in the mid day sun. On our way we bumped into lots of local children waving at us on our bikes aswell as millions of butterflies and a couple of camels!!

We arrived at our first stay where we met our favourite man Paul who was joining us for safari. We had our first buffet lunch where everyone stocked up on the cracking steak and sausages and then had a deserved relax by the pool.

We then went on our first evening safari and saw lots of baboons, elephants and giraffes, aswell as countless birds spotted by Paul. We arrived at a great spot for a sundowner where we enjoyed some drinks before heading back for another luxury meal at the accommodation.
