Wednesday 31st January - Paddy

Today was sadly our last day of safari, but all good things must come to end. We started our day with a very early morning game drive, we were super lucky to see a lion. We then got our selves involved in a very delicious breakfast- after a good fuel up we headed out with all our kit on our final game drive, we had our last views at some of the most beautiful animals have to offer.

We made our way to Watamu for lunch, we had our first experience of ocean sports which was bloody good. Chris and his wife Janine treated us to some splendid pizzas. Beers and cocktails were flowing and we settled in and enjoyed the most incredible views from the outside part of the restaurant.

We made our way home, said our goodbyes to Chris and his team and had a chilled dinner at the Beach Bar before getting an early night in before a fun packed week ahead.

Oceans Alive says:

The leapers have been on a unique safari experience with Chris and Janine Angel - both who have had around 40 years of safari experience. Across the 5 days the leapers managed to see over 100 different animals -  they almost managed to see all of the big 5 while on the trip, unfortunately just missing out the leopard. The trip was unique in that not only were they traveling around in the car they also had the opportunity to cycle at certain points through the trip. It was not just the game in the park that made this trip so special for the leapers, but also the scenery that they witnessed was picturesque, from 200 year old lava flows to stunning views of Kilimanjaro. Lucy M was very pleased as she got the chance to photograph some incredible wildlife (a few pictures featuring in the blogs) - and her results did not disappoint! Staying in incredible lodges with delicious food surrounded by serene landscapes and wildlife - the leapers had an amazing time!
