30th January - Phoebe L

We started the day with an early wake up at 6 and went on the game drive, we saw elephants, giraffes and lots of zebras. We then came back and packed our stuff ready to leave for the next destination. It was a beautiful place with amazing balcony’s in every room with the view of zebras drinking from right outside our room and lots of birds (which i don’t know the name of).

We all went for a swim and then sunbathed for a bit where Will stupidly lay in the sun for hours with no suncream on and turned out as red as a tomato and in a lot of pain. We then had a yummy lunch, I had pasta with tomato sauce and choc cake for pudding.

At 4 we went on another game drive which was incredible we saw 5 cheetahs and sat watching them for hours, where we had our sundowners and watched them walk around and lay down. They were v photogenic and loved us watching them. This day was deffo the best as we got so close to these amazing animals. On the way back to camp me and Etty were making a tik tok and stupidly got hit by elephant wire and electrocuted on our arm as we were so oblivious to it. We got back and had supper and then had a few cocktails and played drinking games and then went to bed in the double bed which was INCREDIBLE while Etty got the single.

Wills blog for the day:

This morning at 6:00am only 7 of us woke up for this game drive due to the rest being lazy hungover cretins. To start the morning off we grabbed a cuppa tea and a slice of cake that completely tasted of garbage. While leaving we saw a male and female lion guarding buffalo a dead buffalo poor sod. Which was then being eaten by the time we arrived back. Later on that drive we saw a gazelle startled looking in to the distance myself a Georgia then spotted a cheetah which we later saw had 3 cubs. The cheetah and 3 cubs crossed the road right in front of us while the cubs were playing with each other. Absolutely flabbergasting sight I never thought I’d see. We could follow them though as the mother had to be left to hunt to feet the cubs for them to survive. Ok the morning game drive we saw many other animals such as a super  tusker (essentially an elephant with large tusks) with a female and little baby. We then got breakfast which was a didelydumptious buffet. The afternoon game drive was a ruckus as the roads were dreadful. That evening we arrived at the final nights location which once again blew us away. The most incredible week that I’ll  100% never forget.
