13th February - Claudia
Woke up bright and early today for the 6am rubbish pick up on the beach. We were there for about an hour and then took a few pictures with the beautiful sunrise before making it back for a delicious breakfast.
We sorted out the rubbish back at Pope before getting ready to go out for water appreciation activity. We made our way to the local village, Sheriani, and started pumping the water accompanied by the Pitch Perfect soundtrack. It was loads of fun, I nearly broke my neck carrying the water on my head, but you know what, it was worth it after dancing with the kids and talking to the locals who ended up asking for quite a few of the girls instagrams.
We made our way back for lunch and got ready for an afternoon snorkel. The tide was quite low but it was so nice to have a swim and see the fish, we even found a puffer fish!
We got back to Pope and quickly got ready to go and play a very competitive game of football against some of the locals. Of course Alec was the first to have a good fall but the game continued and was of course very high quality! It ended in a 3-0 loss however could have been quite a lot worse if it wasn’t for some of the greatest saves ever by Tass. We then had a penalty shoot out which could be compared to the intensity of a champions league final. Norah and Scarl represented the girls with some great shots!
Dinner was devoured by everyone after all the running around. All in all was one of the best days so far, fab volunteering and fun!!
