16th February - Lara

I woke up this morning with tears in my eyes; today was our last full day at D Pope. I laid in bed for a few hours before I dragged myself to breakfast. To my dismay only watermelon was left by the time I got there. This is why I was overjoyed to hear that we would be going to the Ridge for lunch. Today was also Scarli’s birthday, so that made it all the more special. Bella, Phoebe S, and I hung out on our balcony before heading to lunch, savoring our remaining time in our favorite gossip spot.

At the Ridge I indulged in many different meals to make up for my lack of breakfast, and this included the remains of Will’s pasta and Scarli’s birthday brownie. After stuffing ourselves at the Ridge one last time, we all rushed back to send Tassilo off. Tears were shed and this is when it really started to feel like our time together was coming to an end.

We had a few hours to chill before getting dressed up for the local acrobatic troup to perform for us again. Being Scarli’s birthday, she was pulled onstage and lifted up in a signature pose of the acrobats. A beautiful meal was presented to us, and this is where I repaid Will for lunch, giving him my designated half of a meat skewer. Finally, Rhiannon and Etty brought out the delicious cake they secretly baked for Scarli.

We then moved to the main room and danced to Just Dance, and sang our hearts out for what felt like hours.  With everyone exhausted, emotional, and very sweaty, it was a given that it was time for bed. Norah and Rhiannon hosted a sleepover in their room; we piled in the mattresses and pillows and were fast asleep.
