Monday - 31st July - Cami
mondayyyyy! Most of us woke up early for the ‘dawn drive’ where we saw herds of zebra, antelope, water bucks, ostriches, wildebeest, elephants, and we even found a mother lion with her cubs as well as two of the male lions from last night! We then headed back for breakfast - another buffet with a delicious fresh juice stall. The seating gave us a perfect view of the water hole, at which many more zebras had arrived.
We drove through the savannah and along the main road to enter Tsavo East National Park - Kenya’s largest protected area.
As we approached the next lodge we saw a cute baby elephant and its mother at the entrance. We were welcomed with refreshing passion fruit juice and lunch as we watched the zebras and elephants crowding around the drinking pool.
Some of us went for a relaxing swim in the pool before heading out for our sundowner on a large rocky cliff, where they sometimes find leopards!
We saw baboons, elephants, gazelles, giraffes, zebras, and an unusually large young family of warthogs whilst we desperately searched for a leopard or cheetah but were sadly unsuccessful.
After dark we returned to the hotel for dinner, then chilled near the bar before some people got an early night, but I attempted to stay up and see the lions that we could hear roaring in the distance but some annoying people kept shining their torch at the animals and the rangers said it had scared them away! We did see lots of elephant families that had really cute babies.

Why are there always annoying people on safari!
