Friday 13th October - Nico
As a group we went to a school to do activities with the kids at a local school called ‘Future Hope’. We read books, played volley ball, football, musical chairs and made puzzles. We also had our free time with them so we could meet them and even practice Swahili with them. We all made great connections with the kids as we were with them the whole day. The children were very friendly and had a bunch of energy to play. We had lunch at the the school which was meat and rice which was delicious, they also offered us a lot of drinking water as it was a very hot day. After the school we had a tour around the village which was very nice experience as we could see how people lived their everyday lives. During the walk we saw people hacking down coconuts up in the trees, we also saw the locals transporting their water to their houses. Each person delivered at least 3 barrels of 20 Litres a day for their essentials. As it was a Friday we planned to do a fancy dress night which included a lot of card games and beverages. We all dressed up in traditional clothes that we brought from the market the day before. Overall the trip to the school was a heartwarming experience and the party in the afternoon was very fun and everyone had a blast. Love Nico
